If you’re spending your summer on “that slender, riotous island” that has captivated creative minds for centuries, look no farther than the Hamptons for the best of what the international art scene has to offer.
ArtHamptons, which runs from July 13 to July 15, will feature over 400 artists from 65 international galleries. This year, ArtHamptons will be honoring the life and work of Jackson Pollock with a series of centennial celebrations to benefit the Pollock-Krasner House & Study Center. The Sculpture Fields of Nova’s Ark will play host to the festival, a sweeping 97-acre preserve with bucolic greens, polo fields, and the iconic Sculpture Park. Don’t forget to pick up your tickets to the July 12 opening preview and VIP reception to benefit LongHouse Reserve.
If you’re looking for something on the smaller scale, artMRKT offers a stream-lined, intimate viewing experience. Now in its second season, artMRKT will be held at the Bridgehampton Historical Society Grounds on Montauk Highway, featuring work from over forty contemporary art galleries from across the country. The collection is tightly selective and is organized as a series of petite boutiques. The fair will run from July 19 to July 22 with an exclusive Evening Preview held on July 19 to benefit the Parrish Art Museum.
Whether you are an avid collector or amateur appreciator of art, mark your calendars for these two fine art fairs.
