This past Tuesday, Salvatore Ferragamo presented the Women’s Resort 2013 collection in Paris at the Louvre. Why is this such a huge deal? Because this was the first time in history that an Italian designer collection has shown inside the halls of the prestigious and beautiful museum.
Five hundred guests from around the world were flown in to experience Ferragamo’s latest collection which displayed cool, delicate, and neutral hues like ash, clay, and light pink. The 120 meter runway located under the arcades of the Denon wing, showcased the brand’s skill and craftsmanship by showing off a multitude of leather goods, from suede boots to luxurious crocodile handbags, nappa and snakeskin weaved into an over-sized knit, and a dress made from that same exotic crocodile.
Creative Director, Massimiliano Giornetti sent models down the runway in clothing that screamed eternal summer and an effortless cool. VIP guests such as Hilary Swank, Frida Pinto, Leighton Meester and Nina Garcia enjoyed an after-show dinner beneath the pyramid.
