Macy’s July 4th Fireworks

Tonight, throughout the “shores” of Manhattan, an estimated 3 million spectators lined the waterfronts to celebrate America’s Independence Day.  They gathered and gazed in Brooklyn, Manhattan and New Jersey at Macy’s 48th annual fireworks display … and they were not disappointed!  The traditional barges (we counted five!) detonated an endless barrage of multi-colored plumes and the view from Center Boulevard in Queens was as safe as it was inspiring.  Displaying their gritty resilience and gratitude, New Yorkers embraced one another and calmly cooperated with the police details and their security protocols.  Said one awed visitor from Washington DC: “I’ve seen some really great sights in our Nation’s Capitol, but this is about as beautiful as it can get.”
